BC TNE has invited other institutions to partner with us with the goal of improving teaching, learning, and schooling based on TNE's guiding principles.
BC TNE partners with Boston Public School's Office of New Teacher Support to provide ongoing professional development to new teachers in the Boston Public Schools. In addition, BC TNE has worked with Bridgewater State College. BSC recommends approximately 350 teachers each year for initial licensure and places the greatest number of teachers in Massachusetts' schools compared to any other higher education institution in the state. BC TNE has worked closely with Bridgewater State to support their induction efforts.
BC TNE is also collaborating with Newton Public Schools through a partnership with Franklin Elementary School on a data-based inquiry project. In the first year of the partnership, teachers in the K-1 grades identified emergent literacy and reading fluency as a target area for increased support and investigation. Due to the success of that initial work, the partnership has been expanded to include teachers from each grade level and all areas of specialists. A partnership team is working to collaboratively build student literacy skills across the grade levels and to improve teachers' use of data to inform instructional practices.
